Choose 10 MIL for anything worn, hung or handled daily — credentials, backstage passes, badges, memorial cards and licenses. Choose 5 MIL for full-size documents you handle occasionally, like menus and signage.

Rule of thumb: if it hangs from a lanyard or lives in a wallet, go 10 MIL. If it is a full sheet of paper you will handle occasionally, 5 MIL is plenty and costs less.
Pouch size is the outside dimension of the empty pouch. Insert size is the largest document that fits inside with a proper sealed border on all four edges. Always buy by insert size.

Yes. These are thermal pouches and require a standard pouch laminator to seal. If you want something reusable that needs no machine, our vinyl badge holders slip over a printed card with no heat required.
A slotted pouch has a pre-punched hole on the short end so it hangs from a lanyard or clip without you punching through the seal. All our credential-size pouches are slotted. Letter, legal and menu sizes are not.

They work in any standard thermal pouch laminator. Check that your machine supports the thickness — some entry-level laminators max out at 5 MIL and will not seal 10 MIL properly.
Almost always the machine was not fully preheated, or it is running too cool for the thickness. Let the laminator reach temperature, and set it for the mil you are using. A cloudy pouch run back through once the machine is hot usually clears up.
