Tyvek is a synthetic paper — it looks and tears like paper but it is spun polyethylene, so it does not disintegrate when it gets wet. That combination is why it has been the default event wristband for decades: it costs about five cents a guest and it survives a full day of rain, sweat and drinks.
Every band is 1" x 10" with a waterproof adhesive and security die-cuts. The die-cuts matter — if someone peels the band to pass it to a friend, it tears instead of re-sticking. That is what "tamper evident" means in practice.

Quick version: one day and you want it cheap, buy Tyvek. Several days or anywhere near water, buy plastic or vinyl. A festival where the band is part of the experience and people keep it afterwards, buy woven cloth. Cashless payments or scanned entry, you want RFID.
Tyvek wristband FAQs
Are Tyvek wristbands waterproof?
Water resistant, with a genuinely waterproof adhesive. They hold up to rain, sweat, pools and spilled drinks for the length of an event. They are not built to survive a week of showers — for that you want woven cloth or plastic.
Can a Tyvek wristband be reused or moved to someone else?
No, and that is the point. The adhesive is one-time-use and the band is die-cut so it tears if peeled. Once it is on a wrist it either stays there or it is destroyed.
How do you put a Tyvek wristband on?
Peel the backing strip, wrap it around the wrist with about a finger's width of slack, and press the adhesive tab down firmly onto the band. Press it properly — a band applied loosely or with a half-stuck tab is the one that comes off.
How many Tyvek wristbands come in a pack?

What is the difference between Tyvek and paper wristbands?
They are the same thing in everyday use. Tyvek is a brand of synthetic paper, so "paper wristband" and "Tyvek wristband" get used interchangeably in the events business. Genuine wood-pulp paper bands do exist and they fall apart when wet — everything we sell is Tyvek.
Which colors should I use for age verification?
Two colors with maximum contrast, used consistently all night. Neon shades read fastest under low light, which is why neon pink, neon green and neon orange are our most-ordered colors for bars and clubs.
Do Tyvek wristbands work for multi-day events?
Not really. Tyvek is built for one day. For a two-day or longer event, either issue a different color each day or move up to woven cloth, which is designed to stay on for the whole run.
